Tales of Alberto Gonzales

Can someone please explain to me why the Republicans refused to swear in Attorney General Alberto Gonzales before he testified (okay that part I've figured out;) why he was allowed to get away with telling a different tale now than he did when he was under oath (that explains the first part) and why, most importantly, none of the network news stations even bothered to report it?

And the neo-cons call it the "liberal" media!
