More Stuff

I've been so wrapped up in Grandma next door that I've hardly had time to revel in Bush's troubles. Even his own party is not supporting him over the UAE - port deal. Of course, with elections coming up, it is wise to distance one's self from the sinking ship that is W.

On the homefront--I never did get a call back from senior services; I've taken over paying Grandma's bills, arranging to get repairs done, inserted myself between her and her drunken niece, fired the thieving housekeepers, put her grandson on an allowance and gave him 90 days to get a job or get out. She thinks I am an angel sent from heaven. I think that if there is a hell, there is a special place there for people who take advantage of the elderly.

Also, my niece and her traveling companion have not yet returned from their road trip to Kentucky; they are supposed to return today in time for my birthday celebration.

It took me a minute to look past her friend's piercings and tattoos, but he is such a nice guy I soon found myself fascinated by them (the piercings and tattoos, I mean.) The smell is a little harder to overcome. I love my niece dearly, but they stink.

I hope they get here early enough to shower before the party; and then I hope they shower.

Peace.
