No Sunday Services on Christmas?

Apparently many churches across the nation have decided to forego services on Christmas since it falls on a Sunday, so that their members may stay home and open presents with their families.

So if I understand this correctly, it is as I've always suspected: the true meaning of Christmas is not the celebration of the birth of Christ, but the celebration of commercialism through gift exchange. No wonder the religious right is so hung up on hearing merry christmas instead of happy holidays in the mall as they buy their gifts. That just confirms for me the fact that organized religion is nothing more than just another big business.

Happy Days Off From Work and Merry Gift Exchange.

Good News on the Homefront

I talked with my favorite Christian Conservative today (my mom) and good news! She heard Hillary Clinton speak and was very impressed! In fact, she said she could even vote for Hillary for President! I'm still in shock...

Other good news on the homefront...my youngest sister, the Atlanta Christian newspaper publisher, just had child number four. The good news is, her oldest daughter is living in a squat in NYC and is being exposed to a whole world of information outside of her strict religious upbringing.

It's just good news all around today.
